Aug. 18 (Bloomberg) -- Edison International s Southern California Edison and First Solar Inc. agreed to build two solar plants in Southern California to generate 550 megawatts of electricity.

Shares of Trina Solar Ltd. jumped on Tuesday, a day after the solar power company posted rising second-quarter profits. Shares of Trina Solar climbed 79 cents, or 3 percent, to $27.02 in morning trading.
