This is the cool tool that the solar guy uses to figure out how much shade your trees would make on your roof during different times of year. The tool is specific to your latitude, and you have to point it due south, but doesn't need to the know the time of day of the measurement or anything else to show you what your shading would be year round. Totally clever.
